Year 3 Aquamarine Class Highlights

We had a fantastic first week back at school!
In maths, we have been learning about Geometry. We went around the classroom on a right angle hunt!
In PE, we started our new yoga unit. We practised our balancing skills and learned different moves. The children learnt how yoga can be a mindfulness activity.
In English, the children came up with some questions to ask the characters in the book, ‘The Comet’. After coming up with some open and closed questions we did some hot seating!

Year 3 Sapphire Class – weekly round up (Spring 1, Week 1)

We have had a fantastic first week of the year and we have achieved some amazing things. Here is a recap of some of our learning.

In English, we provided Nyla’s dad with some advice on how he can help his daughter cope with moving houses.

In computing, we explored publishing software and developed our typing skills. We learnt how to change the font, size and colour of the text.
We continued to deepen our understanding of the story, “The Comet”, by acting out a scene from the book. we thought about their body language which will help us to show the reader information without telling them in our writing.

Year 4 Amber Class Highlights


We have had a fantastic first week back at school. We were awarded the best attendance for KS2! As well as our super attendance, we have completed some super learning this week.
In PE, we started our new basketball topic. We practised dribbling skills and learned how to do a ‘V dribble’
      
In maths, we have started our topic on the 7 multiplication table. We created a poster showing what we had learned so far.
     
In English, we started our new book The Rhythm of the Rain. We looked at an illustration from the story and answered questions and made predictions from it.  
Finally, in music we continued our topic on body percussion. We created rhythms of the rainforest layers using body percussion.
    
  

Autumn 2 Round Up – Year 3 Sapphire Class

Autumn term was full of fantastic learning and impressive break through!s! We’ve developed our handwriting, independence, number sense and creativity, along with so much more. Here is a quick round up of some of this learning.

Fire safety talk!

We discovered facts about our bones and muscles. Then, explored nutrition.

We created cave art on textured backgrounds.
During healthy living week, we were visited by Errol and got our hearts beating!
In maths, we explored the place value of three digit numbers and explored different addition and subtraction strategies.

In English, we loved our book “Gregory Cool” and used role play to explore the characters emotions.
We gave out lots of awards to our fantastic superstars!We can’t wait to get started with Spring term!
