French Day

At Prince Edward, our KS2 pupils learn French and we are lucky enough to have Jacques Bartolemy teaching our pupils. This week, we organised a day for all our KS2 children to learn French across many varied subjects. There was food tasting (including trying snails in garlic butter);

cycling, art (in the style of pointillism); DT models of the Eiffel Tower,

dance, sand art and orienteering solving French clues.

Artwork in our School Hall

This year our pupils in all year groups have had the chance to work with two wonderful artists from “Artboat”: Soo and Charlie. There is some amazing artwork around school and the latest masterpieces to go up are the Harry Potter sculptures created by the Y5s and the Solar System created by the Y2s. Our school hall looks amazing. We are really going to miss Soo and Charlie, but we know, in a few years, we will invite them back for more stunning art sessions.

Art at Prince Edward

It’s not just about academic success at Prince Edward. We love the arts! There’s always so much going on at our school and all the pupils are involved in the arts. We currently employ two professional artists to work with our pupils every Monday. They are timetabled to work with all our pupils from nursery to Y6. The artists create huge installations and, over time, we will have them all displayed in and around school. Our pupils work with sewing machines, willow, clay and produce enormous art showstoppers. The first “showstopper” was installed this week. It has been made by every Y6 pupil and it ties in nicely with the work our school are doing based on the Chinese New Year right now.
