Manor Lodge

We are so lucky to have the historic Manor Lodge Tudor site on our doorstep. It is steeped in history.

Yesterday, we visited Manor Lodge as part of our Tudor topic. It was such a fun day, exploring the grounds and taking part in different Tudor themed activities. We loved meeting Bess of Hardwick (Countess of Shrewsbury) and we enjoyed dressing up in different Tudor clothing.

What a great day!

Welcome Back!

It’s a new school year and the weather has been so very kind to us. The children have returned settled and eager to please. All our children have remembered all the school rules and it’s been a delight to see how mature they have become. Before the holidays we had a professional photographer to capture our children learning around school. I’m including some photographs in this first Blog of the year.

Since we’ve started we’ve had lots of events. Children are celebrating Roald Dahl Day today by dressing up in their favourite characters. See the Class Blogs for specific photos of that. School visits are booked in this month with Y6s planning on visiting Eden Camp to support their World War II project. Loads of our children have signed themselves up to attend the many after school clubs. It’s great to see new faces joining Razzamataz theatre club, Rugger Eds (Rugby Club with the professionals), Athletics Club, Gaming Club, Yoga Club and more besides.

This week, children have been applying for the many schools jobs on offer. Trophy Polishing, Plant Watering, Playground Buddies, Office Assistants, Attendance Officers and Lunchtime Assistants are always popular and in demand. In addition, pupils have been voting for the new School Council this week. We have brand new representatives to continue to give a pupil voice in our democratic school. This shows how dedicated and committed our children are to making our school the Team Prince that it is.

Finally, a brand new Pride of Prince Edward will be announced in assembly later today. Who will it be?

Summer Fun Run at Manor Fields

On Wednesday all our Key Stage 2 children were involved in an event called Go Run For Fun which was held at Manor Fields. Other schools were involved from the locality and all 850 of them wore pink, branded T-shirts and completed a 1 mile course as fast as they could.

The children were joined by the European Athletics 100m Hurdles Champion: Alicia Barrett. They felt honoured! Alicia will be competing this summer in London at the Anniversary Games.

The children and teachers had loads of fun and remained motivated and determined throughout. Well done to everyone for taking part.
