Prince Edward Y5 Football Team

Last night, our Y5 football team took part in a mini-tournament. They played four matches, winning two and losing two. They kept their spirits up throughout all games, supporting each other, smiling and working as a team. I was so impressed with how they passed the ball, communicated with each other and marked the opposition. It was a joy to see young sportsmen thinking strategically. Mr Little, our football manager (and Y3 teacher), said it was the best he’d seen them play and all boys never stopped playing their best.

Well done “Team Prince”!

Two Very Special Awards

Friday is a day we celebrate the week’s achievements. We celebrate all those children showcasing the school’s values: from Charming Citizens, Perfect Pride and Presentation, to Leaders in Learning. We present trophies for the best attendance, the best punctuality and tidiest classrooms. Parents join us to congratulate the children and are always so proud.

I have a very special job, and that is to present the school’s most prized awards and trophies too. Today we have a new Pride of Prince Edward and a boy who has received a much rarer school trophy: The Prince Edward Sports Trophy.

The Pride of Prince Edward this week…

This special young lady has been ready to be the Pride of Prince Edward for years! She is such a fantastic ambassador for our school both in class and when she is out and about. She is sensible, hard working and a fabulous friend to others. It is great to see her doing her best. We can’t wait to see what she achieves next!

The Prince Edward Sports Award

This award goes to a Y6 pupil. He is a talented footballer and represents our school in the football team. He is a great sportsman with a great attitude. Last night, during a match, he was ‘talent scouted’ for Sheffield Boys! One person even said, “He’s the best I’ve seen in a very long time.”

Congratulations both. The school is very proud!
