We had a fab time when Rachel came to see us at school and teach us some African Drumming. It was a great way to start Black History Month.

Black History Month

Here is one of our Y3 Blog entries about the work they did on Black History Month, Nelson Mandela and apartheid. I set the Y3s a challenge to find our what significance my key ring souvenir has. I bought it in Cape Town. The key ring simply says “466/64”.

This week we have been learning about Nelson Mandela for black history month. We have completed a fact file about him using the iPads and we have had lots of discussions about apartheid, race and diversity. Mrs Weet has been really impressed with our mature ideas!
