Online Safety

This is very important. As a school we do as much as we can to educate our pupils about the risks of being online, especially in chat rooms. Even though our Y3 pupils knew the rules, in practice, they didn’t apply them. We run this experiment every year with our 7 and 8 year olds to help them see the dangerous reality of online safety.

Y3 Sapphire

Last week, as part of Safer Internet Day 2019 Mr Little and Mrs Weet conducted an experiment with all classes in Year 3  to see just how safe we really were while using the internet.

For the experiment we were told that we would be playing an online game on the iPad. The game we played was Yahtzee. We had to roll five dice to try and get the highest score possible. After a while we noticed that this game had a chat feature and that we had received a message from someone called TackyEagle9155. We chatted to this boy and he seemed really nice, he told us his name was Jake, he was seven years old, and that he goes to little oaks primary school. He asked for our personal information and we told him our full name, age, address, school name, teacher, Playstation username and even a description…

Pride of Prince Edward

POPE FEB 8 2019

This week’s winner has been ready for this award for years. She is hard working, kind and always tries her best. She never ever gives up when things are tricky and she works her socks off to learn new things and to get better. She makes our class and our school a happy, friendly place to be.

Multiplication Competition

We are so very proud of our Y4 children. They have entered a multiplication quiz against other schools. They have knocked out all the other opponents and are through to the semi finals. They have Pipworth Primary to beat, and if they do, they go through to the Grand Finals! Keep up the hard work!

Pride of Prince Edward

POPE FEB 1 2019

This week’s Pride of Prince Edward is a ray of sunshine each and every day; and is a true asset to Prince Edward. She is a caring member of the class who looks out for all her peers and makes her class a happier place to be.  She has created master pieces in her own time at home, including and fully functioning Tudor house which shows her ongoing commitment and pride to her learning. She is a true representation of what it is to be a Pride of Prince Edward.

Prince Edward Primary is in the top 3% of schools in England for progress.

We are thrilled with this news.

Today we received a letter from Rt Hon Damian Hinds MP (Secretary of State for Education) and Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP (Minister of State for School Standards). In it they congratulate us for our “very high level of progress that pupils demonstrated in the Key Stage 2 assessments last year” and they say that “in terms of progress your pupils make between Key Stage 1 and the end of Key Stage 2, your school is in the top 3% of schools in England.”
